The final round of the British downhill series took place at the weekend in Caersws, Wales. We left Friday morning from Dublin and arrived at the race just after lunch.
The track was looking good, steep and tight up top and then fast and rough down the bottom with a load of jumps.
Saturday practice went well doing runs all day with Christopher McGlinchey,Got a load of runs in and was feeling comfortable on the track for race day,
It rained Saturday night making the track fairly slippy on Sunday morning but come seeding runs it had dried up and the dust was out again.Had a good seeding run putting me into first place a little over 2 seconds ahead of second so i was feeling comfortable for race run knowing i could shed abit of time off seeding.
Just as i was heading up for my race run the heavens opened which turned the race upside down,I was waiting at the top for about 40 minutes in the cold and wet before i set off for my run,The track had completely changed from practice so i felt i was on a good run for the conditions,I was on the same second as the winner at the split but i washed out in the last cor nor,I got up as quick as i could and took second place on the day and also winning the 2011 Halo BDS overall which i was super happy about.
Check out this edit from the weekend with some sideways action from me Ben kennedy at 2.35.
